Many users reported that X (formerly Twitter) stopped working on Wednesday. According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks online service problems, reports of issues started rising sharply around 4.47 pm EST.
In a post on its official account, Downdetector wrote, “User reports indicate problems with X (Twitter) since 4:47 PM EST. How is it affecting you?”
What X Users Said
Several X users shared their issued on the platform and reported the outage. Many people took to other platforms to explain the problems they were seeing. Some said the app would not load, others reported seeing error messages.
A number of users wrote that timelines were frozen, messages were not sending, and trending topics were not updating. Some also reported being automatically logged out without warning.
An X user said, “X is down again. Time to complain.” Another said, “Dang, did X go down again? Freaking gremlins in the machines.” One more commented, “Is X down right now! What’s going on !”
Fourth user expressed frustration saying, “Seems like X goes down several times daily. Can’t even access messages, no notifications for comments, and it keeps saying ‘Can’t access posts at this time.”
Another said, “Is X down or is my internet provider having a proper go at me?”
One more user commented, “Swear down X goes down every single day.” Another stated, “X is down so nobody will notice I’m not actually a chicken.”
Another user wrote, “Is X down, or am I just retarded?” One user wrote, “X down. Not as bad as last time, but this is the most downtime (three times in the past couple of days) I’ve seen this platform have in quite a while.”
When Will The Services Be Restored?
So far, X has not released an official statement about the cause of the outage. The company’s support account did not immediately post any updates.
Users speculated whether the problem was related to server issues or ongoing platform changes, but these claims remain unconfirmed.
