Flightradar24 Down? What Is Flightradar24 And Why Is It Trending Today

Live flight tracking platform Flightradar24 is reportedly facing a temporary outage with many users saying they are unable to open or use the website and mobile app properly. According to them, the website is taking time to load and is responding slowly. As per the outage tracking platform DownDetector, complaints started rising around the afternoon.
Users said pages were slow, flights were not appearing on the maps. As per the outage tracking platform, most users reported issues with the website (58 per cent), followed by problems with the app (42 per cent). A very small number — around one per cent – flagged login-related issues during the outage.
“We are aware that many users are still experiencing site availability issues. This is due to an unprecedented volume of traffic requests. Our engineers are working hard to resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience,” the online flight tracking platform wrote on X.
What is Flightradar24 And Why It Is Trending Today

Flightradar24 is a website and mobile app that lets people track airplanes in real time on a live map. It shows information like the flight number, airline, departure and arrival airports, altitude and speed of aircraft flying around the world. Aviation fans, travellers and even industry professionals use it to follow flights as they happen.
Flightradar24 is trending today because of the ongoing tensions and military conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States. Due to safety concerns, several countries in the Middle East have temporarily closed their airspace. As a result, many flights have been cancelled, delayed or diverted.
Because of these sudden changes in global flight routes, a large number of people are using Flightradar24 to track planes in real time. The heavy traffic on the platform may have led to slow loading or temporary access issues, which is why many users are reporting that the service is down or not working properly.
Flightradar24 is not alone. Several other online platforms have also seen heavy traffic and temporary slowdowns. Social media platforms X and Reddit also reported brief disruptions earlier this afternoon. The reason for this surge is the current war and airspace disruptions.
