‘It’s Funny People Are Judging…’: Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Breaks Silence On Mystery Device Temple

Because of all the Ruckus that is going on around Zomato, CEO Deepindar Goyal appeared on a podcast. More than what Deepinder said, one thing that caught everyone’s eye was a small device stuck to the side of his head. And all the internet went wild after that in literal terms. Social media platforms were filled with weird guesses like the device being a USB stick for ideas, a brain enhancer, and whatnot. What followed after that was a hoard of influencers and doctors thrashing the device left, right, and center, claiming that it’s useless.
In a recent development, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has shared a tweet that read, ‘Gentle reminder to all the concerned doctors and/or influencers.
We haven’t made any public commercial announcements about Temple yet. We haven’t released any official device benchmarking data. A lot of the work is still underway; we’re months away from introducing preview devices to the public, if at all.
You are advising people not to buy an “unvalidated” device that isn’t even available to order or pre-order yet. That’s funny, tbh.
We will share all the science if and when we decide to sell Temple. You can judge and give all your advice at that moment. Until then, be curious, and cheer Indian startups. Your skepticism is valuable, but at the right time.’
Along with the post, he also shared a photo of a device with a phrase saying, ‘feeling prematurely judged.’

What Is The Truth About Temple?

As of now, Temple is nothing but an experimental wearable that could track brain blood flow in real time. For those who are unaware or jumping the gun, it is not a consumer gadget yet. And Goyal has been testing it himself for more than a year now. It has been developed on the principal of the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis that suggests that gravity’s effect on blood circulation may influence ageing.

Why People Are Jumping The Gun?

Whether you open Instagram for a basic pleasant scrolling or you open YouTube to stream videos, you will find one or another pseudo-influencer claiming they know everything about a device that is only in its research and development phase (these guys can look into the future, I guess.) Most of the claims say that the device cannot do what it promises to, promises to, I mean, seriously?
That little thing is still being tested, and no claims have been made in the first place, for god’s sake. And yet again, most of the criticism around the device is nothing but a medium to chase clout. Once the device is here, most of people will try it, build an opinion around it, and then share their views (talking about the genuine ones out there). Anything else that you see on the internet related to Temple is nothing but wild assumptions of people who can die or kill for virality.
