Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Calls AI ‘Disappointing’: Here’s Why

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has recently highlighted that he does not like using AI much. He feels ‘disappointed’ when he uses AI tools. Ahead of Apple’s 50th anniversary, Wozniak spoke to CNN and revealed his experience of using AI tools. When asked about the dynamic shift AI is bringing to society, the Apple co-founder replied, “I do not use AI much at all. But I have asked it a few questions to test it.”
Apple Co-founder Finds AI Disappointing
Wozniak stated that whenever he asked AI a question, rather than simply focusing on the keyword, it responded with a whole bunch of different explanations that are on the subject, but not what he is really interested in.
He added that it might be hard to explain what the AI was getting at, but he often read things, and they just sounded very dry and too perfect to him. “I want something like a human being, and I am disappointed a lot.”
Wozniak Says AI Can’t Replace Humans
Even after claims from global tech leaders that AI could replace the human workforce, Woziak believes that he has not seen any sign yet that the technology is capable of such an extent.
Wozniak’s remarks come at a time when NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang claimed earlier this week that we achieved human-level AI, known as artificial general intelligence (AGI). Huang recently spoke at the Lex Fridman Podcast and suggested that AI is capable of autonomously starting and managing complex tasks for high-value enterprises.
Huang said, “I think it is now. I think we have achieved AGI. I would not be surprised if some social thing happened or somebody created a digital influencer, super, super cute, or some social application that, you know, feeds your little Tamagotchi or something like that, and it becomes out of the blue an instant success.”
