Tech giant Apple is likely to launch its much-anticipated iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September this year. Early leaks have already started to surface online pointing out that the 2026 Pro lineup may see some upgrades in design and performance. Here are expected specifications of both the purported flagships: iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

As per rumours circulating in the industry, Apple is believed to be working on placing Face ID sensors under the display. If this happens, the Dynamic Island design could be altered. Instead, the flagships could feature a small punch-hole cutout for the selfie lens, possibly placed at the top-left corner. The overall design of the smartphone is likely to be similar to its previous generation but the front may look cleaner. New colour options could be burgundy, purple and coffee brown.
In terms of optics, the smartphones are likely to receive a mechanical iris system, letting users control how much light can enter the lens. This feature is tipped to improve low-light photography and offer good portraits with more natural background blur. Leaks also hint at a new three-layered stacked image sensor, which could be sourced from Samsung. This could provide faster image capture and reduction in noise.
Speaking of the performance, both the smartphones are likely to be powered by Apple’s next generation A20 Pro processor expected to be built on an advanced 2nm process. The tech giant may also offer enhanced chip packaging that may be integrated with RAM more closely to boost performance of the smartphones.
These smartphones could see improvement in battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to offer a 5,100mAh battery. The iPhone 18 Pro may offer the same 6.3-inch display while the Pro Max may offer 6.9-inch display.

In terms of the expected pricing, the iPhone 18 Pro could start in India at a price of Rs 1,40,000 while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could be priced around Rs 1,50,000, depending on the storage options.
