WWDC 2026: Apple Brings Liquid Glass Refinements, MacOS Golden Gate, And Search Index

The World Wide Developers Conference just happened, and it began with Tim Cook taking the stage and announcing the theme ‘All Systems Glow.’ He said, ‘At Apple, we’ve always believed that technology should be personal, powerful, and easy to use. The tight integration of our hardware and our software unlocks the full potential of each of our products. That same philosophy drives us to design our operating systems to work together seamlessly and to create a common foundation of technologies to help developers build great experiences across their apps.
This is what WWDC is all about: introducing new technologies and innovations that push the limits of what’s possible.
Today, we’re looking forward to sharing some exciting announcements, including our latest advancements in Apple Intelligence and Siri.’

Apple is bringing Liquid Glass refinements this time, with which every window on macOS will have the same title bar for better consistency. Furthermore, the Cupertino giant is also adding additional layers of liquid glass directly into the icon.
Another major highlight of the event is the introduction of macOS Golden Gate. Apple states that the latest Os is going to be a crucial part in the daily lives of millions of users. To improve readability, the Liquid Glass interface now packs a new slider that allows users to adjust visibility. macOS also includes a unified toolbar and sidebars that extend to the edge of the screen, letting the content flow seamlessly.
Coming to Search Index, it will be available on iOS, iPad, and macOS and will be backing Mail, Photos, and Spotlight. The Search Index is a rich catalog your device builds so that it can figure out what you have and where it lies. The new search index registers all content of your device, and when new content comes in, it is indexed almost immediately.
