Apple is geared up to host its Surprise and Shine event on September 9, 2026. The keynote for the upcoming iPhone launch event could be a little different this time as Tim Cook has stepped down from as Apple CEO handing over the responsibilities to John Ternus. The tech giant is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with the first-ever foldable iPhone.

The Apple Surprise and Shine event will be hosted on September 9 at Apple Park in Cupertino. For fans in India, the keynote will start at 10:30 PM IST.
Apple has given this year’s event the tagline “Surprise and Shine”. The event is also expected to mark a significant moment for the company as John Ternus takes over as CEO following Tim Cook’s departure.

Indian viewers can watch the Apple keynote through the company’s official website and the Apple TV app. Apple is also expected to stream the event live on YouTube, making it easy to follow the launch without an Apple device.
iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max And iPhone Ultra Expected Specifications
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to retain 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively. Reports suggest Apple could make the Dynamic Island smaller while improving power efficiency. Moreover, the camera system could also receive an upgrade, with both models tipped to get improved 48MP sensors. The main camera may feature an adjustable aperture, while the Pro Max could offer improved zoom capabilities.
Both phones are expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip, reportedly based on a 2nm manufacturing process. Battery life could be another major change. The iPhone 18 Pro is likely to feature a 4,056mAh battery, while the Pro Max could get a battery exceeding 5,500mAh.
Speaking of the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch OLED display on the outside and a larger 7.8-inch OLED screen on the inside. Both displays are tipped to support a 120Hz refresh rate.
The foldable iPhone is also expected to bring back Touch ID, which would be a notable change from the current Face ID-based iPhone lineup. Under the hood, it could be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chipset, reportedly built using TSMC’s 2nm process, and paired with 12GB of RAM. Storage options are also expected to be generous. Apple could offer the iPhone Ultra in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and even 2TB variants, giving buyers plenty of choice depending on their storage needs.
It is noteworthy that these specifications remain unconfirmed until Apple officially takes the wraps off the new iPhones.
