Apple finally took the wraps off its iPhone 18 Pro Max and launched its first-ever foldable iPhone, dubbed as the iPhone Duo. John Ternus hosted his first Apple keynote as the new CEO. Apart from the latest generation iPhones, the company also launched the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and other devices. Here is everything Apple announced at its Surprise and Shine event on Wednesday.
iPhone 18 Pro Max And iPhone 18 Pro
Apple finally launched its iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro as the latest flagships. Both the devices are powered by Apple’s A20 Pro processor which are built on a 2nm process and offer a six-core CPU. Speaking of the display, the iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch display and the iPhone 18 Pro Max comes with a bigger 6.9-inch screen.
For photography, both the models come with a triple back camera setup which includes a 48MP primary lens with a variable aperture, a 48MP ultrawide sensor and a 48MP telephoto shooter. In terms of pricing, the iPhone 18 Pro comes at a starting price of Rs 1,64,900 while the base variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900.
iPhone Duo
Apple introduced its first-ever foldable smartphone, known as iPhone Duo. This book-style flagship comes with a 7.76-inch inner screen and a 5.49 cover display. Just like the iPhone 18 Pro series, this device will also be powered by the A20 Pro chipset. This device features a dual back camera setup with two 48MP sensors and gets a front-facing lens on the inner and outer screens. Interestingly, the foldable is also supported by the Apple pencil.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone Duo comes will cost RS 2,99,999 for the base 256GB storage variant and goes up to Rs 4,49,900 for the top-tier 2TB storage variant.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 And Watch Series 12
Apple has also launched its latest edition of the premium smartwatches: Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Watch Series 12. Both these models come with watchOS 27 and bring the latest health features including the Readiness app. The Apple Watch 12 series comes at a starting price of Rs 56,900 whereas the Watch Ultra 4 will start at a price of Rs 1,09,900 in India.
AirPods 5
At the Surprise and Shine event, Apple also launched its latest pair of audiowear, AirPods 5. The new AirPods offer Active Noise Cancellation from the starting range only with Transparency mode and Conversation Awareness. Interestingly, AirPods 5 also come with hands-free Siri support and Live Translation.
The Apple AirPods 5 will be available to purchase in India at Rs 14,900 while the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case is priced at Rs 17,900.
iOS 27 Update
Apart from the hardware launch, Apple also announced that its iOS 27 update will be available to download from September 14 for all the compatible devices. This update brings revamped Siri, new Liquid Glass customisations and parental controls. Read more about the iOS 27 update here.
