At its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Reliance Jio unveiled a new AI-focused product called Jio TeleFrame, which the telecom giant describes as a central hub for AI agents inside the home. Alongside the announcement, the Mukesh Ambani-owned platform also revealed upgraded Jio Home connectivity plans offering speeds of up to 5 Gbps. Keep on reading to get to know everything about Jio TeleFrame, how it works and what Jio is promising with its latest AI push.
Jio TeleFrame, a voice-first AI hardware system, is designed to act as a shared control centre for multiple AI agents. Rather than opening different apps for different tasks, Jio says users will be able to interact with AI agents through a single interface that understands household routines, preferences and requests.
According to the company, different AI agents will handle specific tasks. There could be agents dedicated to entertainment, shopping, guests and smart home controls, all operating through TeleFrame. Jio claims the platform will work in Indian languages and provide assistance only with user permission.
During a demonstration, TeleFrame reminded family members about an upcoming doctor’s appointment and even suggested carrying umbrellas based on the weather forecast. In another example, Jio showed how a guest-planning agent could help organise a festival lunch by preparing grocery lists, recommending dishes based on previous preferences, and tracking deliveries.
Entertainment is another area where TeleFrame is expected to play a role. Jio says the entertainment agent can launch streaming apps, adjust lighting, manage volume settings and even keep track of live scores during sports matches.
The telecom giant also introduced a new multi-frame viewing feature for JioHotstar. Users will be able to watch up to four different streams simultaneously, whether it’s a cricket match, a TV show, or live news channels. Audio can be switched between windows depending on what viewers want to focus on.
Meanwhile, Jio Home is set to receive a major speed boost. The company says its next-generation AirFiber service will support up to 5 Gbps download speeds and 1 Gbps upload speeds, enabling smoother cloud gaming, video calls, streaming and other bandwidth-heavy activities across multiple devices.
