Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has said that the company will invest around $150 billion every year in Taiwan and described the island as the ‘epicentre; of the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution. “Taiwan is the epicentre of the AI revolution. This is where the chips come, packaging comes, this is where the systems are made, this is where AI supercomputers were created,” he said.
Speaking at an event in Taipei to mark the launch of Nvidia’s upcoming Taiwan headquarters, Huang said the company’s spending in the country has increased dramatically over the past few years, Reuters reported.
“Four or five years ago, Nvidia was spending around $10 billion to $15 billion a year in Taiwan. Now, we are spending about $100 billion and that will grow to around $150 billion annually,” Huang said.
The new headquarters is expected to break ground later this year and become operational by 2030. However, the Nvidia CEO did not reveal how long Nvidia plans to maintain investments at the $150 billion level.

The move will further strengthen Nvidia’s ties with Taiwan-based chip manufacturing giant TSMC, which produces many of the advanced semiconductors that power AI technologies and remains one of Nvidia’s key suppliers.
Huang also said the region plays a critical role in chip production, packaging and AI system manufacturing.
“Taiwan is booming. It is the epicentre of the AI revolution. This is where chips are made, where packaging happens, where AI systems are built and where AI supercomputers are created,” Huang was quoted as saying.
He also praised Nvidia’s local ecosystem, saying the company works with a large number of partners in Taiwan, making it one of the most important technology hubs in the world.
