iPhone Fold Could Start Shipping In December: Check Expected, Specs, Price, Camera, And More

The rumours and leaks related to the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold are running rampant on the internet. Now, in a recent development, it has been revealed that the device may not start shipping in September with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. For those who are unaware, Apple is all set to change the launch cycle of the phones this year, under which, it was being said that the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold will be launching in September and the base variant will be moved to March 2027.
Now, according to research by Apple analyst Tim Long, the iPhone Fold could start shipping in December 2026. He also said that the device will be launched alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, but the sale timing will be affected. Furthermore, he has also stated that Apple is planning to launch two devices alongside the base variation iPhone 18 – possibly iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2. Though this has not happened in a very long time, multiple Apple analysts have suggested that the flagship and base models will be released in two different launch cycles.

What Else Do We Know About The iPhone Fold?

iPhone Fold related leaks suggest it may bring a 5.5-inch outer display coupled with a 7.8-inch inner display. It is also being said that Apple will be bringing back Touch ID this time. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the device may ‘definitely’ get a battery with a capacity above 5000mAh, and we have not seen that capacity in any iPhone until now.
Coming to the optics, rumours have it that the Apple iPhone Fold will sport a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary shooter and a 48MP ultra wide angle shooter. Apart from that, we may also get to see an 18MP cover sensor and an 18MP selfie sensor. It will be based on iOS 27 and most probably run on the Apple A20 Pro chipset. As for the pricing, speculations are that the device will be available for around $2000 in the international market and around Rs 1,99,900 in the Indian market.
